Colin Liew

Mr. Liew is a Director and Head of International Litigation at a specialist disputes law practice in Singapore.

He is an experienced disputes practitioner who regularly appears before the Supreme Court and arbitral tribunals, where he has represented clients in complex cross-border disputes in areas including commercial fraud, post-M&A disputes, international trade and commodities, investor-State claims, and crypto and Web3 disputes.

As the author of “Legal Professional Privilege” (Academy Publishing, 2nd Ed), Mr. Liew is the foremost authority on legal professional privilege in Singapore. His work is frequently cited before the Singapore courts and arbitral tribunals whenever privilege disputes arise, and he regularly advises or provides training on privilege and related issues (e.g., fraud or investigations).

He also takes appointments as an arbitrator with most major international arbitral institutions (DIAC, HKIAC, ICC, KCAB, LICA, SIAC, SHIAC). He regularly contributes to law reform efforts of Singapore’s International Arbitration Act 1994 and has published regularly on various areas of the law.

Mr. Liew graduated at the top of his year from the University of Oxford, and he is dual-qualified in Singapore and England and Wales.
