Robert Kirunda
About Ambassador
Robert Kirunda is a disputes and technology lawyer who works at the intersection of commercial litigation, arbitration, and emerging technology. He is an advocate before the Courts of Judicature in Uganda, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration.
Robert built his practice on high-stakes commercial and financial disputes, then moved into digital assets, fintech, and data-driven business models as the African tech market accelerated. He advises on crypto regulation, platform compliance, digital asset enforcement, cross-border tax issues, and complex multijurisdictional transactions. His clients include startups, investors, financial institutions and technology companies that need clear answers in fast-moving markets.
He teaches law at Makerere University, leads the Centre for Law and Emerging Technologies and heads the Arbitration Law cluster of the Uganda Law Society. He has contributed to national policy and legislative reform and is recognised for combining courtroom strength with deep understanding of Web3 and frontier technologies.
