Yuliya Shapovalova

Yuliya Shapovalova is an international lawyer and an attorney-at-law focused on IT, Web3, investment projects and innovative industries. She advises founders, funds, and early-stage startups on regulatory strategy, corporate structuring, virtual asset frameworks, and cross-border commercial matters. Her work spans technology, digital assets, energy and high-growth industrial projects, where she supports clients from the first regulatory assessment to ongoing operational compliance.
She serves as a General Counsel at an investment group, working closely with management teams on financing, governance, risk analysis and investor communications. Before that, she led the Kyiv office of an international tax and legal advisory firm, supporting multinational and regional clients operating in Ukraine’s technology and industrial sectors. Yuliya advises her clients on tokenization, fundraising, virtual asset licensing, and market entry under international legal frameworks. She also acts as an arbitrator at academic moot competitions and contributes to public discussions on the regulation of virtual assets, digital finance and emerging technologies.
